Hello Hello Hello!

I suppose that I should introduce myself. My name is Angela, but Talia works too. It's short for Hetalia, which is quite unfortunate. Thanks 13-year-old me for making all social media accounts have this Superwholock-esque name.

Well! Better to look to the future. This blog would be for documenting my thoughts and experiences in fashion. Lolita is the big one, but there will be some girly vintage-inspired normie blog posts. General fashion advice will be something that I write too, as well as reviews of others' wardrobe organization tips. I am also currently researching a bunch of almost-dead-but-not really, learned through osmosis tumblr aesthetics as a writer for the Aesthetics Wiki, which I will detail here.

I started my interest in fashion when I was on Polyvore (may it rest in peace) c. 2013. The neon mint skater skirts with the black two-stripes of white knee socks, quelle horreur! There was also my beloved Pokemini and Pokecolo, a Japanese gacha game which I actually spent real money on. If I didn't spend those ten dollars, I could have gotten another Innocent World headbow this haul haha. Later, I moved onto Pinterest and found new Polyvore edits in 2017: the ones from 2014 J-fashion tumblr with the F.i.n.t dresses and dollhouse transparents. I fell in love! The algorithm eventually gave me Devilinspired ads, and I just had to investigate. I researched "Lolita" and found the ever-iconic Fyeahlolita blog, and I've been in love ever since. At around the same time, I was on aesthetic tumblr, where I was liking things from andantegrazioso and therepublicofletters- that's right, I was familiar with the proto-Dark Academia crowd and the much envied pink European glamour of haute couture and rococo palaces.

I eventually got my first dress on LolitaWardrobe as a reward for finishing my AP European history test (Rabbit Teeth's Faerie's Lost Hope- not too shabby), joined all the facebook groups, made separate aesthetic blogs on tumblr, and started sewing for a hobby. Getting my grubby little hands on every thread and article about Lolita and later, "Larme Kei," was what I did in those sun-drenched afternoons of my high school days. During my time volunteering in Los Angeles, I would hang around Little Tokyo, and I finally got one of my coveted first Larme magazines. Finally going to a Lolita meet (ice cream with Tyler Willis and the rest of the comm) really cemented my love for the fashion.

Later, I stumbled onto the Aesthetics Wiki while looking up the history of Cottagecore, and I got into Discord to comment about how Lolita isn't an aesthetic. Which I still argue about it to this day. Sorry guys!

My years of lurking on tumblr and TVTropes paid off, and I became someone people can go to for an answer about aesthetics. On Facebook groups, I can comment on Lolita forums with ease and help the Nooblitas. As I moved on through life with discovering new music, developing my style, and reading other people's thoughts, I suppose I gained at least a bit of expertise. So, here we are! The blog.

You can't see me, but I did a curtsy. Hope you guys enjoy! ♥
